I was a school boy friend of Gordon. I always remember him for his keen appetite for food, he couldn`t half eat!  Gordon was as strong as an ox. He was always keen on mending cars and being creative which our gang got involved in. A very sharp mind for anything to do with electrical/electronics gadgets. My Dad didn`t have a car but his Mum and Dad kindly took me along on some longish car trips in the 1960`s , such as Ravenglass , Ingleton and Woodford airshow were just a few memorial outings.     

A`could-be` grumpy character at times who did not tolerate fools but was a loyal friend 

Sorry to hear about him passing away. I have only just picked up the news.
